Israel’s Attempted Assassination of Hamas Leader Followed Surveillance of Deputy

A compound belonging to the family of Rafa Salameh, a top Hamas deputy in southern Gaza, had been under surveillance for several weeks, Israeli officials said. The strike killed more than 90 people.
